Rolex Submariner ref. 6536 1 Brown Dial

The 6536/1 is one of the rarest references in the Submariner family, sold only between 1955 and 1959. One of the earliest Rolex diver’s watches, heir to the early models whose slim case it retains .The dial is a deep shiny black shaded to brown by a toning that only time can draw. This effect gives the dial a dark, mirror-like surface with markings due to a craqlè effect of the zapon ( transparent varnish) and text in warm, golden tones. Over the years, the dial has aged gently, creating a soft glow that adds character .
